BUSINESS TEXTING BASICS

What Is A2P 10DLC?

A2P 10DLC is the U.S. business-messaging framework used for application-to-person text traffic sent over standard local 10-digit telephone numbers. A business generally registers its brand and describes each messaging campaign through its messaging provider or Campaign Service Provider.

This readiness check does not submit a brand or campaign. It helps organize the website, consent, policy, use-case and sample-message evidence commonly reviewed before registration.

Who Generally Needs to Register?

Businesses sending application-to-person traffic over U.S. local 10-digit numbers commonly need 10DLC registration. Customer care, appointment reminders, service updates, account notifications, marketing and other business messaging may qualify.

Toll-free numbers and short codes follow different verification or registration paths. The assessment continues as a general consent audit for those sender types but does not present a complete channel-specific determination.

What This Assessment Checks

  • Public business and website identity
  • Messaging purpose, recipients, frequency and volume
  • Affirmative opt-in methods and retained evidence
  • Privacy, terms and texting disclosures
  • Sample-message consistency
  • STOP, HELP and opt-in confirmation language

Why Consent Language Matters

Providing a telephone number or submitting a general contact form does not automatically establish consent to receive recurring business texts. Website messaging consent should be separate, optional, unchecked by default and supported by clear sender, purpose, frequency, rates, STOP, HELP, Privacy Policy and Terms disclosures.

See Tier 1’s Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions for the site’s established disclosures.

Why Campaigns Are Commonly Rejected

Common causes include prechecked consent, no defined opt-in, inaccessible policy pages, vague message flow, missing brand identification, inconsistent embedded-link declarations, or sample messages that do not match the registered campaign.

Requirements can change, and specialized content may require manual review. This tool identifies preparation risks without making legal or final carrier-policy judgments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

10DLC Readiness Questions

Does this tool register my business or campaign?

No. It produces preparation guidance and draft language only. It does not connect to The Campaign Registry or submit a carrier registration.

Does a strong result guarantee approval?

No. Registration rules and provider or carrier review practices may change. The result identifies common readiness issues, not approval or compliance certification.

Why does the website scanner ask for authorization?

The scanner reviews only a small number of public, same-origin HTML pages after you confirm that you own, manage or are authorized to assess the site. It does not log in, execute JavaScript, submit forms or download files.

What if the scanner cannot inspect my form?

The result says “Could not verify automatically” instead of treating the language as missing. JavaScript forms, embedded third-party forms, authentication and security controls may require manual review or public screenshots.

Do I need to provide an EIN here?

No. This preparation tool intentionally does not collect EINs, tax documents, owner identity documents, passwords or carrier credentials.

When is a CRM lead created?

Only after the full results appear and you explicitly choose to email the report, request Tier 1 assistance, or both.
